What is CSR?

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) means taking concrete action to combine economic, social and environmental performance. It’s about meeting the needs of our generation without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.

Our CSR record

For FO, the constant defence of social, economic and environmental performance is proof of our long-standing commitment to CSR. Whether for Airbus, its subcontractors, temporary workers or suppliers, our overall aim is to defend our industry in the long term.

For FO, social and human issues must be at the heart of CSR. Our mobilisation for employment during the Covid crisis and our actions to support the QWL (Quality of Life and Working Conditions): working hours, transport, equality, gender equality, hybrid working, teleworking, etc., bear witness to this.

At national level, FO has supported R&D and R&T efforts to decarbonise our aircraft and have a concrete impact on greenhouse gas emissions from scopes 1, 2 and 3.

Locally, support for soft mobility has made it possible to integrate the contribution of employees.

FO‘s commitment is also reflected in the actions already taken by our works council:

  • Holidays: "Ecotourism" holidays and local holidays via the "Escapades en Occitanie" catalogue.

  • Cooperative: electric car show, organic and local market, bicycle maintenance, etc.

  • Housing: advice on insulating your home

  • Catering: combating food waste, turning food waste into compost, buying eco-responsible foodstuffs by favouring short distribution channels, etc.

  • New CSE sports complex (TOAC): photovoltaic panels, autonomous solar outdoor lighting, vehicle charging points, etc.

  • CSE associations: permaculture, beekeeping, conferences on biodiversity, etc.

Our demands

-CSR that promotes sustainable employment in Europe, France and our historic employment areas.
-CSR that promotes the highest social standards: for FO, CSR means attracting, training and retaining employees to support projects for the future.
-CSR that anticipates changes in jobs: skills, training, working conditions.
-CSR beyond our company: for our subcontractors, suppliers and temporary workers in France and abroad.
-CSR in the form of ambitious commitments and agreements: for FO, a tradition of demanding collective bargaining on social, wage and environmental issues.
-CSR for the benefit of responsible, low-carbon aviation: technological progress and innovation driven by Airbus employees are the best allies for low-carbon aviation (in all its components, from aircraft design to operation)!
-CSR deployed by everyone: enabling each employee to make a concrete commitment and contribute to reducing greenhouse gases.

FO intends to remain a key player in CSR. For FO, there is no label, no good conscience, no vague concept but, on the contrary, concrete and demanding CSR in its actions and demands, whether local or national!

For FO, corporate sustainability can only be based on social performance and environmental progress.
